Dislocation Injuries
A painful experience many people suffer is a dislocated joint where bones are forced from their rightful positions. This can immobilize a joint making for an incredibly uncomfortable situation. Elbows, knees, and hips are often the parts of the body susceptible to dislocation, but it is most common in shoulders and fingers which make it difficult for older adults to live an independent lifestyle.
Although some injuries have an increased risk of repeat dislocation, if treated properly, most will return to normal function after several weeks of rest and rehabilitation.
